Zenit
E -1965-81. Metered version of Zenit. Uncoupled selenium meter in
front of prism, match-needle on top housing. Industar 50-2 or Helios-44 f2/58mm.
First type has 39x1 lens thread and no instant return mirror. From end 1967 with
instant return mirror. From 1968 changed to 42x1 universal mount. Many other
running changes. Zenit E (Cyrillic), black or chrome, Zenit E (latin), black or
chrome. Olympics 1980. 'No-name' version. Over 3 million made. Zenit E name variants: - Revueflex-E,
Phokina, Phokina XE, Kalimar SR-200, Kalimar SR-300, Meprozenit-E,
Meprozenit-80, Diramic RF100. Zenit E Olympic - c1977-80. Several versions
of the popular Zenit E were labeled in preparation for the Moscow 1980 Olympics.
One has 'MOSKVA 80' and the five interlocking Olympic rings on the front of the
top housing below the rewind knob. Another version has a logo with the Olympic
rings at the base of a tower. Both types were available in either black or
chrome.
