Zorki (I) - d950-56. Leica II copy with
separate RF/VF windows. 38mm RF base. Removable base, lndustar-22 f3.5/50mm.
Consecutive serial numbers at least through 1954, without year of manufacture
indication. Some pre-1955 lndustar-22 lenses are date coded, which may help to
date an early body if the lens is original. Most models are fairly common in
Europe and becoming more common in the USA. Variants: Zorki (type la) -1949-50. Identical in
appearance to the Fed-Zorki, but new engraving on top has Zorkii in cursive
Cyrillic letters (Зоркий), and the new KMZ logo with arrow. Zorki (type Ib) - c1950-51. Like type la,
but shutter release button is threaded for cable release. Speed dial engraved
with larger numbers. Zorki (type Ic) - c1951-1953. Like type Ib,
but with cast-metal parts including shutter crate and body. Recognizable from
earlier models by black-enameled body edges adjacent to top and bottom plates.
Some examples with Cyrillic name only, others with Cyrillic and Latin names on
same top housing. Zorki (type Id) - c1953-54. Like type Ic,
but body casting redesigned with rim extended to the lensmount. Names on top are
no longer engraved, but stamped. Cyrillic or Cyrillic/Latin versions. Serial
number moved from top to rear beginning late 1954. Shutter speeds as previous
models, Z, 20, 30, 40, 60, 100, 200, 500. Zorki (type le) - c1954-56. Like type Id,
but new shutter speed sequence B, 25, 50... 500. Serial numbers on back of top
housing. COMPLETE SET:
